Connect Now Unveils the Secrets of de Bijenkorf

[Oct. 18, Amsterdam] During the hectic week because of Amsterdam Dance Event, there was still a chance to relax and drink to the weekend at the Connect Now monthly event. Letting our members have a better life is one of the ambitions of Connect Now. Fashion is a very important part of the lifestyle. This time the guests could enjoy drinks while networking, in the marvelous luxury department de Bijenkorf. As a partner of Connect Now, it allowed us to feel the most in fashion style and unveiled some secrets of the old fashion building which has over 150 years of history.

To kick off the event we had a Champagne at Isaac’s bar provided by Jessica, our partner of this event.

The luxury department has much history and Jessica wonderfully presented this to us. What started as a small haberdashery shop in the Nieuwedijk in Amsterdam, expanded to a big luxury warehouse in Amsterdam, as well as other cities.

Later a secret part of the building, the tower, was showed to us. We had the honor to enter this exclusive location where artists usually stay, in order to work on their projects. The view was inspiring and the atmosphere of this tower was relaxing.

Eventually, we were invited to have a visit to the personal shopper (PS) room, where Marjo, a stylist of de Bijenkorf, told us the ins and outs of the coming season. Fake fur, velvet, print, everything is possible. A woman should not forget to embrace their waist and men are also invited to play with textures and prints.

The PS room’s interior design is modern yet cozy. Here one can hand everything over to Marjo, and be assured she will provide the best end result. And of course, we cannot forget to take a selfie!

The event continued in Isaac’s bar, new connections were made with the presence of some wine. Connect Now welcomed new members that can help our community with the integration in the Netherlands and building business locally and cross border.

Please feel welcomed to join us at the monthly events, workshops, and seminars.

Special thanks to Ms. Jessica van der Pluijm, Ms. Marjo Krancenborg, and Mr. Kai de Wit. You brought us a great journey to the fashion center. Another special thanks to Roger, our little photographer. You did a very good job to keep all the memories with your camera.
